PROGRESSIVE POLICY

Our continuous improvements and innovations go far beyond our technical capabilities. Our factories are also trailblazers in ethical and socially progressive practices. By the end of 2021, D. Navinchandra Gems will have built the most female-focused and sustainable diamond manufacturing operation in India. This new factory will have a strong emphasis on sustainability and will utilise solar power as part of its drive towards the use of clean energy.

D. Navinchandra is currently assessing its carbon emission over the next three years for all of its sales offices and manufacturing facilities. Results will give a baseline for long-term environmental and sustainability practices.

D. Navinchandra Gems founded the Kalpana Dilip Mehta Foundation in 2009, an organisation that is committed to giving back to the community in meaningful and impactful ways. Here are a few organisations Kalpana Dilip Mehta has helped fund and promote through the years:

Friends of Tribals Society (FTS) is a volunteer organisation committed towards uplifting the underprivileged rural and tribal masses in India. FTS provides a five-fold education programme that focuses on functional literacy, health care, development education, empowerment, and ethics and value education. In 2019, the Friends of Tribals Society was granted the prestigious Gandhi Peace Prize, presented to them by the President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, along with the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi.

Jivan Jyot Drug Bank (JJDB) is an organisation working for providing better and affordable healthcare opportunities and medicines to the poor and underprivileged. JJDB understands the importance of affordable health solutions and takes the responsibility to bring a ray of hope to the lives of those who are in poor financial situations. The main focuses are in distributing expensive drugs, dialysis machines, etc., but the Jivan Jyot Trust also has an eye care hospital, a dental department, and conducts medical camps to spread awareness "to help the poor fight against disease."

The Kalpana Dilip Mehta Foundation is proud to support these two organisations, and other organisations that share similar goals and beliefs. Kaplana sponsors many projects and NGOs that support education for underprivileged individuals, provide medical care, and structure social programmes for the community.
